Come support Brooks Dairy's Digester Project!

We need as many people as possible to attend a public hearing next Monday or email letters of support for a fellow farm family who is battling to build a digester project amidst strong opposition based on misinformation and fear tactics.

Today, the attack is on Brooks Farms, but it could be against your farm tomorrow.

We are asking all CAFO owners, family members, dedicated staff and vendors and suppliers to STAND UP to protect the use of science and innovation in manure technology today and into the future. Will take all of our efforts to stop this train-wreck from happening as we combat loud vocal activists making unfounded claims of declining property values, increased traffic noise, additional traffic, dust, road degradation and loss of local control, rural character and loss of natural resources.

From Brooks Farms:

At Brooks Farms, sustainability is at the forefront of our daily operations. We are continually seeking ways to sustainably improve our manure management and how it impacts the environment. We have the opportunity to partner with Vanguard Renewables to implement a co-digester on our farm. This innovative technology combines expired food waste that would otherwise be sent to a landfill with manure from our farm to produce renewable natural gas. Learn more about co-digestion here: www.vanguardrenewables.com.

This is an incredible technology that benefits our family farm, our community, and the environment. The approval process through our township, however, has created an uproar of concern among town residents based on incorrect, fear-based information being circulated by anti-ag individuals and organizations. This is not just a local, isolated issue at our township level. As the dairy industry continues to develop innovative methods of manure management, anaerobic digesters will become a prevalent solution for family dairy farms in Wisconsin and throughout the United States.

We ask for your support and testimony at an upcoming Public Hearing on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 5:00 pm at the Lind Center Town Hall (N1315 County A Waupaca, WI 54981). Our goal is to have the voice of innovative agriculture rise above the negative comments that we expect to be abundant at this public hearing. We thank you in advance for your support of our family farm and the dairy industry as a whole – we are stronger together.
