Member Alert: DNR draft Evaluation Report Checklist

It has come to our attention that the Wisconsin DNR has circulated a draft Evaluation Report Checklist (click to view) meant to assist in the creation of an Evaluation Report, as required under NR 243.16(1).

The DNR has asked for comments regarding this draft checklist. Wisconsin Dairy Alliance and Venture Dairy Cooperative are closely reviewing this checklist with our legal counsel and engineers and will provide comments to the DNR raising any practical or legal issues with this checklist.

Additionally, while the DNR labeled the checklist as a "draft" and indicates that it is not a requirement for permitting, we are aware of instances where the DNR is asking for proof of items in this checklist in the context of current permit approvals.

We are sharing this checklist both to make you aware that you or your engineers might encounter it and to solicit any feedback you may have on the items in this checklist so that we can incorporate them into our comments.
