The Wisconsin Dairy Alliance and Venture Dairy Cooperative are Proud to Endorse Donald J. Trump for Second Term as President
October 28, 2020: The Wisconsin Dairy Alliance and Venture Dairy Cooperative are proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for a second term as President of the United States of America. Over the past four years, President Trump was true to his word, addressing the needs of farmers throughout rural America. It is more important than ever to have an advocate for agriculture in the White House who will help protect our family farm businesses. The Wisconsin dairy industry provides approximately 150,000 jobs and adds $45.6 billion to the economy annually, proving that a strong dairy industry in our state benefits all our citizens.
We are grateful for President Trump's dedication to improving trade compliance with China and crafting the historic United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Under his leadership, this agreement helped create a fair-trading environment between Canada and the United States, eliminating the Canadian class 7 dairy pricing program, which ultimately leveled the playing field in the international market. The passing of the USMCA has allowed U.S dairy farms to export to the equivalent of 3.6% of Canada’s dairy market...triple the previous 1% under NAFTA. He has remained tough on trade negotiations to help build better long-term export markets, ensuring a promising future for farmers, not only in Wisconsin, but across the U.S.
President Trump has shown his commitment to our farmers by encouraging innovation through farmer led environmental sustainability initiatives rather than keeping us in the costly Paris Agreement. His continued opposition to the proposed Green New Deal proves his understanding of the devastating effects this type of policy would have on farmers. He has delivered on his commitment to building a better broadband infrastructure in rural America. He helped drive sales and distribution of dairy products during the COVID-19 pandemic, placing dairy in the Food Box Program and delivering it to those who needed help the most. Our hard working farmers and their employee’s were labeled "essential" and remained working each day to make sure consumers had the food they needed for their families. We are also thankful for the President providing funding for the Paycheck Protection Program to help keep our family farm businesses running. This is only a snapshot of his accomplishments, and we are excited for the possibilities in the next four years.
We look forward to working with President Trump as he continues to create opportunities for the dairy industry and helps build a stronger future for our farmers in Wisconsin.
